Ean & Virtual4's VRlab updates VIROO to version 2.0
WHAT IS VIROO?
VIROO is the Virtual Reality platform under which the Virtual Reality Laboratory of the Ean & Virtual4 University (VRLab) operates, located in the Ean Legacy building in Bogotá, Colombia.
The VIROO platform allows the development and deployment of multi-user Virtual Reality applications remotely, allowing the creation, management and deployment of immersive projects without limitations. This means that several people can work collaboratively and simultaneously, sharing the same physical space on a real and virtual scale.
As a pedagogical element, the VRLab has been a fundamental tool for university students to explain through virtual reality complex processes and scales that are not accessible in everyday life, thus advancing the digital transformation of educational models and optimizing learning processes in innovation and sustainable entrepreneurship.
The VIROO 2.0 version updated in the Ean & Vrtual4 VRLab includes connectivity improvements, the integration of advanced UNITY® tools and five new interactive demos that showcase the platform’s graphical and collaborative capabilities.
Connectivity improvements: remote connection without limits
There will now be more versatility to connect multiple users to the same collaborative space from different devices and locations, whether from a VIROO® room or from a desktop computer, with or without VR glasses.
Creating your own immersive content:
VIROO® Scene Generator 2.0 has also been updated, a toolkit for UNITY® that facilitates the creation of immersive content without the need to use code and just by doing “drag and drop”, facilitating the creation of your own content in the VRLab.
This toolkit also allows UNITY® experts to develop content using code and deploy it through the platform under the VIROO format.
New demos, new immersive experiences:
Five new interactive demos are now available that showcase the platform’s graphical and collaborative capabilities, allowing VRLab users to experiment in new virtual environments. In addition, further updates are planned for the end of 2022.
VIROO Academy:
Through the new VIROO® Academy portal, VIROO® user organizations can access tutorials and resources to be able to generate their own content independently.
