Camilo López, peace advisor, comments in the framework of his visit to the Basque Country:
“Over the past few years we have been in a process with Virtual4 (GCON4 group) to analyse how technology, in this case, immersive technologies, can facilitate the simulation of experiences and decision-making in advance, so that children and young people in particular experience simulated events that prepare them on how to act in binding conflict scenarios and can, in fact, make correct decisions regarding the prevention and peaceful resolution of conflicts.
The use of immersive technologies also promotes the recovery and promotion of historical memory and the appropriation of Human Rights and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) related to this end.
For his part, Luis Alberto Viñas, VP Sales at Virtual4, explained:
“With our allies and expert advisors on the topic of peacebuilding, Manuel Salamanca, Director of the Human Rights Institute of the Universidad Javeriana, Wilson López, Camilo López and Hugo Buitrago, we have worked on an innovative project that aims to facilitate appropriate decision-making to prevent situations of violence. We are very excited about this work and very hopeful about the potential benefits of this innovative project.”
